In the heart of the Douro, gastronomy is guided by the diversity that Mother Nature imposes and guided by the hands and hearts of the Douro.

The smells and flavors we find in winter, differ in spring, summer or autumn and are an authentic journey through time.

Port wine

São João da Pesqueira, is located in the heart of the first demarcated wine region in the world, where the famous Port Wine and table wines of incomparable prestige are born.

Oil

An ingredient that can not be missing in the kitchens of Nagoselo do Douro, would have to be produced by themselves. Nagoselo came to be more land of oil than of wine, and the old documents tell us that “lacking him [the oil] there is a great lack and need in the land”.

Smokehouse

To speak of smokehouse is to speak of secular traditions. In the Douro region, the slaughter of the pig marked the time of the production of the smokehouse, the salt pans were filled and the pigs were born the hams, the sausages, the blood sausages commonly called in the region as moiras, chouriças and salpicões. These products are still made traditionally in the region today and are the delight of those who visit the heart of the Douro.

Meat ball, oil ball, knee ball (splayed on the knee) and sweet ball are references of our land. Ancestral traditions and cultures that you will be able to know and share our experience.

Almond

Blossoming almond trees are a landmark of our region, making our winters happy. Almond has become the raw material for our main activities! In our recipes you will find almonds!

Wine

Throughout the trip you will pass through numerous vineyards and with its slope you will see that at all times of the year they are beautiful. Combined with the great landscape, you will have to taste the great wine that comes from there. It is certain that you will have a good time at sunset, with a wine from the region.
